I’ve found that ink jets work well but the
cheapest ones are best. I’ve spent over $100
and it didn’t work better than the $20 printer.
Plus I’ve bought the everything in one printer.
With the scanner and fax built in. That didn’t
work out any better. I believe now that buying
the individual units are better.

Ink jets are inexpensive but the ink is expensive.
You can save more money by using refill kits.
The kits cost around $10.00 to $20.00 and
usually contain both black and colored inks.
They will fill the cartridges more than once.
You'll have to put a small hole in the
top of you ink cartridge to fill it. Once the hole
is there you fill a syringe with the ink you
want and inject it. You'll have to wait a little
while before actually using the cartridge.
The ink has to settle into the container.
You must be careful to not spill ink.
Spilling is easy and it takes time to get the ink off
your fingers. I always fill my cartridges
over a plastic bag you get from the supermarket.
I have found that there is a limit to how many
times you can refill the cartridges. So eventually
you will need to purchase another cartridge.

I use an HP 1400 series inkjet.
This is the cheapest printer I could find at WalMart.
I’ve found that the black cartridge is partitioned
inside. HP is only using about 1/3 of the
cartridge! My plan is to cut out that partition
and see if I can use the total potential volume.

Printing Pictures
Next time you’re going to print
pictures consider this option.
Don't print out a lot of pictures with your inkjet.
Bring the camera memory chip to K-Mart or
Wal-Mart and get them printed for about
.20 cents each. This will save a lot of money
and the quality is much better.
